Frances Bean Cobain - who turns 28 today - has admitted she went through years of living beyond her means despite inheriting millions from her famous father after he died when she was two
Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean has admitted she blew through her $11.2 million inheritance before getting sober and learning how to manage her money.
Frances Bean Cobain - who turns 28 today - is worth millions after receiving the bulk of the Nirvana star's estate following his death in 1994.
She was just two at the time of his suicide, and the money was put into a trust for her.
Frances Bean gets an allowance of around $100,000 (£76,000) per month, but she says she was living beyond her means despite her huge income.
Speaking on RuPaul's podcast RuPaul: What's The Tee? last year, Frances Bean explained she didn't sort things out until after she got sober in 2016.
She said: "The one way that I was shown how to live was to live in excess, like, live beyond your means.
"It took me stepping away from that and getting sober in order to realise that no matter how much money you think you have, it’s not permanent."
Frances Bean, whose mum is Courtney Love, added that she's always had a difficult relationship with her father's money.
