-Wolf Van Halen, has had a Mammoth past year and a half with the release of his self-titled debut, Mammoth WVH. The album was released on June 11, 2021. Back in 2021, the single “Distance” was nominated for Best Rock Song at the 64th Grammy Awards. More recently, Halen, who is the son of Van Halen icon Eddie Van Halen was invited to play at one of the highly anticipated Taylor Hawkins tribute shows, with that particular one being held in London, England at Wembley Stadium.
However, as with most artists, they will have their detractors. As is the case here as Wolf took to social media via Twitter to highlight a thread where he responded to a person disparaging him for being invited to the event in the first place and stating the only reason he got the opportunity was due to the fact he was related to Eddie Van Halen, a statement which is ludicrous to even hint at or even suggest. In addition, Wolf would make mention how he got a personalized call from the legendary Foo Fighters frontman to perform at Wembley.
-“In any event, the full statement read as the following: “Wolf Van Halen just rides in on his daddy’s talent and gets invited to remember a drumming legend? Had you been born to any other parents, you’d be nothing in the music world.”
Wolf would respond by stating on social media via Facebook: “Yes, my dad who hasn’t been alive for two years had Dave Grohl called me and invite me to participate. Spot on, Jeffy. [Happy belated birthday btw]
